Professional development

From the day you start, we’ll do everything we can to build on the skills and experience you bring. And because we realise that a one-size-fits-all approach to training and development would never work in an organisation like ours, instead we’ve adopted a more flexible approach that can be tailored to your individual needs.

Your first steps with Barclays

First of all, you’ll benefit from a comprehensive induction. Some of this will involve face-to-face training.  But to make things more convenient, much of your induction can be completed via e-learning, allowing you to dictate where, when and how quickly you complete it.

It doesn’t stop there

Whilst a Financial Planning Certificate (FPC) or Certificate in Financial Advice (CeFA) is the minimum you’ll need to start advising, we’re committed to furthering your knowledge. With that in mind, we’ll give you all the support you need to gain an Advanced Financial Planning Certificate (AFPC).

Finally, whilst there’s no doubting the importance of formal training, we’re also great believers in learning on the job. And with the team culture that exists within branch you will never be short of support, with colleagues to learn from and share with.
